Pacific Northwest Decks LLC.

The state insures the business under a building repair and remodeling class, which fits what it advertises: deck design and build, deck inspection, replacement, resurfacing, handrails, stairs, privacy walls and skirting, patios and deck lighting. It also lists pergolas, gazebos, covered decks and other custom wood-framed structures. The company says it is owner-led and locally owned, and it claims a comprehensive warranty package. Its service list runs from Spokane's South Hill and Northside out to Mead, Colbert, Nine Mile Falls, Liberty Lake, Otis Orchards, Millwood and Airway Heights. This is a residential outfit focused on one kind of work. It suits a homeowner replacing a tired deck, adding a pergola or roof cover over an existing one, or wanting an older deck looked over and resurfaced before it gets worse. Jobs outside that lane, like framing a new house or commercial building, belong with a different kind of contractor. Spokane's freeze-thaw winters are hard on decks. Water gets into ledger connections, stair stringers and the tops of posts, freezes, and works fasteners loose, so an inspection in spring often turns up rot that wasn't visible in fall. Footings need to sit below the frost line or they heave. Dry summers are the easy season for building and staining, but they're also when deck builders book up, so planning a project over winter and getting permits lined up early helps. Covered decks and pergolas add snow load to think about, which is worth raising when the design is drawn.
