Privacy Policy.

If you submit a match request, we share your name, phone number, email address, and the details of your project with up to three contractors in that trade. They receive it by email and contact you directly. That is the entire point of the service, and it is the most important thing on this page.

We cannot un-send that information once a contractor has it. If you don't want your details given to contractors, don't submit a match request — you're welcome to browse the directory and contact anyone on it yourself.

In practice, today, that sharing may not happen at all: no contractor in the directory has claimed their listing yet, and we only send a request to a business that has claimed its listing. We tell you how many contractors we actually reached. This section describes what we do share the moment there is someone to share it with.

When you ask to be matched, we collect what we need to route your project:

• Contact details — your email address, and (if you provide them) your first and last name, phone number, street address, city, and how and when you'd prefer to be contacted.
• Project details — the trade, project type, how far along you are, your timeline, your budget range, and anything you write in the description.
• Technical data — your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and the referral or campaign source that brought you here. We use these to detect spam and abuse.

You can complete the first step with an email address alone. Everything after that is optional, though a contractor generally can't quote a job without it.

Matched contractors. When you complete a match request, we select up to three contractors listed in that trade and email each of them a copy of your request. The email contains your name, phone number, email address, city, trade, project type, buying stage, timeline, budget range, and your contact preference.

Once a contractor has your information, what they do with it is governed by their own privacy practices, not ours. We are not able to make them delete it. Contractors we did not match you with receive nothing.

Service providers. Vendors that operate the site for us — our hosting provider, our database host, our email delivery provider (Amazon SES), and Google Analytics — process this data on our behalf in order to provide those services.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else except where the law requires it.

If you submit a match request, we email you a confirmation. If you start a match request and don't finish it, we may email you a reminder with a link back to where you left off — at most one reminder for each step you completed, and never more than that.

That reminder is the only email we send that you didn't ask for, so it carries an unsubscribe link. Click it and we stop sending reminders — no sign-in, no reply, no form. Your email client's own "unsubscribe" button works too, and does the same thing.

You can also reply to any message we send, or write to mail@spokane.contractors, and we will stop emailing you. A person reads that inbox.

The confirmation of a request you submitted is a receipt, not marketing, so it has no unsubscribe link — if you don't want it, don't submit the request.

If we ever add another kind of email — a newsletter, or updates about contractors in your trade — it will be something you opt into, it will carry the same one-click unsubscribe, and we will update this page before the first one goes out.

We use Google Analytics 4 on every page of this site. It is a third-party Google product, it loads Google's script in your browser, and it sets Google cookies. We use it to see which pages and trades people visit and where visitors came from. We do not run advertising pixels or retargeting tags, we do not sell or share the data for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles — but Google's own handling of what it collects is governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours.

You can block it with any standard tracker-blocking extension, or with Google's own opt-out browser add-on, and the site will work normally.

The site also uses your browser's session storage to remember your answers if you reload the match form mid-way, and a first-party sign-in cookie if you're a contractor or administrator signing in to a dashboard. Neither is used for tracking.

We keep your match request for as long as we operate the directory — we do not currently delete it on a schedule, and we would rather say so than promise a cleanup we don't perform. Contractors we've already sent it to keep their own copy regardless.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing mail@spokane.contractors, and we will delete it from our systems. We handle those requests by hand.

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to stop contacting you. Email mail@spokane.contractors and tell us what you want; we'll do it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law, and we'll honor them.

We protect your information with reasonable technical measures, including encrypted connections to the site and to our database. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee that transmission over the internet is free of risk.

This site is intended for adults arranging home-improvement work. It is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
