Terms of Service.

These terms govern your use of spokane.contractors, operated by August SEO, LLC. By using the site — to research contractors or to request a match — you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.

01

What this service is

spokane.contractors is an independent directory. We compile listings of licensed Spokane-area contractors from public Washington State records, and when you ask, we introduce you to a small number of them.

We are not a party to any agreement you make with a contractor. We don't perform the work, we don't inspect it, we don't set prices, and we are not the agent, employer, or partner of any contractor listed here.

02

How our listings work

The businesses in this directory are independently listed. They did not sign up with us, they have not paid us, and they are not our partners or members. Most have not claimed their listing, and a listing here is not a sign that a contractor knows we exist.

For each listing we record the contractor's Washington State L&I registration number exactly as it appears in the state record, the date on which we read that record, and a link to the record itself. That link is on every listing, and we would rather you follow it than take our word for anything.

  • Where a listing shows "WA L&I registration verified" with a date, it means one thing: on that date, we read the state record linked beside it. It is not an inspection, an endorsement, an audit, or a statement about the contractor's work, conduct, pricing, or current standing.
  • A registration can lapse, and a bond or policy can be cancelled, at any time after the date we read it. We do not monitor for that.
  • Where a listing shows a bond or insurance badge, it means the record we read showed one when we looked. Where a listing shows no badge, it means either that we did not find that information or that we never checked for it — so treat it as unknown and confirm it yourself. An absent badge is not a statement by us that the contractor lacks a bond or insurance, and it is not a statement that they have one.

Verify anything that matters to you directly with Washington State L&I before you hire. It is free, it takes a minute, and it is more current than we are.

03

For homeowners

Using the site and requesting a match is free, and it always will be for homeowners.

When you submit a match request, you are asking us to give your name, phone number, email address, and project details to up to three contractors so that they can contact you directly. Do not submit a request unless you want that to happen. You're under no obligation to hire anyone, and we don't run a bidding war on your behalf.

Hiring decisions are yours alone. Confirm a contractor's license, bond, and insurance directly with Washington State L&I, and get a written, itemized bid before any work begins.

04

How contractors are chosen for a match

We select from contractors listed in the trade you asked about, and we contact at most three.

You should know what that means today: no contractor in this directory has claimed their listing yet. Because we only route a request to a business that has claimed its listing and asked to receive work, a match request submitted today may reach nobody at all. We will tell you how many contractors we actually reached — including when the answer is none. We would rather say that than let you sit by the phone.

Among contractors who have claimed a listing, requests are ordered so that whoever has received the fewest leads so far is contacted first.

We intend to sell featured placement and paid listing tiers in the future. If and when we do, a paying contractor will be considered ahead of a non-paying one for a match, and at least one of the three slots in a full match will be held for a contractor who has not bought featured placement in that trade. Paid placement will be labeled in plain sight, so you always know what you are looking at. We will not misrepresent a paid position as an earned one — and we will update this page before any of it takes effect.

05

For contractors

If your business is listed here, we built that listing from the public record. You are not being billed, you have no subscription with us, and you owe us nothing. There is no referral fee.

  • Claim or correct it — if anything on your listing is wrong, email mail@spokane.contractors and we will fix it.
  • Remove it — if you would rather not be listed at all, email mail@spokane.contractors and we will take the listing down. We will not argue with you about it and we will not charge you to leave.
  • Keep it accurate — if you claim your listing, you agree that the license, bond, and insurance information you give us is accurate and current, and you're responsible for how you contact and serve any homeowner we introduce to you, including compliance with calling, texting, and consumer-protection law.
  • We may remove or suspend a listing whose registration has lapsed, that misrepresents its credentials, or that generates substantiated complaints.

If we introduce paid listings later, we will not start charging an existing listing without asking you first and getting your agreement.

06
