Since 2016 Anything Electric has filed public-works jobs for agencies across the region, almost always as a subcontractor: Spokane Transit Authority, SNAP, Eastern State Hospital, Community Colleges of Spokane, Central Valley School District, Spokane Parks & Recreation, the Spokane Airport Board, Washington State University and Liberty Lake Sewer District among them. The state insures the business for building wiring and floodlight work, which matches what the permits show. The state lists Jared Maloy and Justin Jennings as principals since 2015, the year the business was established. Most of this work comes through general contractors, so the shop fits well as the electrical sub on a restaurant, retail or institutional remodel. Food service jobs, with coolers, prep areas and bar equipment, are a clear pattern in the recent work. Homeowners building new in Mead, Colbert or elsewhere in the north end and Spokane Valley can hire the same crew for whole-house wiring. Big projects that need an electrical prime contractor running the job are outside how this business usually works. In Washington, nearly all electrical work beyond swapping a fixture or outlet needs an electrical permit and an inspection, whether it's a new home, a panel upgrade, a remodel that moves circuits, or commercial equipment like walk-in coolers. L&I handles most of these permits around Spokane, and some cities run their own. The electrical contractor should pull the permit in its own name and call for inspection before walls close up. That keeps the work on record for insurance and resale, and means a state inspector has seen it.
