The work suits building owners, facility managers and general contractors who need a fire alarm panel replaced, a system brought to addressable devices, detectors retrofitted after a remodel, or elevator fire safety equipment added. Much of it comes through public bids and general contractors rather than direct homeowner calls. A homeowner looking for a service panel upgrade or new circuits in a house is better matched with a residential electrician; FFS's record is fire alarm systems in commercial and public buildings. Before a fire alarm job starts, pin down scope in writing: which devices are being replaced, whether the panel goes addressable, and who handles monitoring communication. Ask how the building stays protected while the system is down, and who coordinates with the fire marshal for acceptance testing. Clarify who patches ceilings and walls after conduit runs, how added devices are priced if an inspector calls for more coverage, and what warranty covers the panel and the labor separately.
