Recent permits show the spread of the work. There are kitchen and bath remodels in Spokane Valley and Newport, a new home in Medical Lake and an office and gym remodel in Spokane. A fire-damaged area was rewired in Medical Lake, and kitchen can lights were replaced after a tree came through a roof in Spokane Valley. Smaller jobs show up too: a garden-post circuit in Valleyford, a sign circuit in Deer Park, apartment units re-energized. Washington insures the crew of four to six under electrical wiring in buildings. Between 2016 and 2023 the shop filed public-works jobs for the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, the City of Spokane, SNAP and Seattle City Light, usually as a subcontractor. Much of Marko Electric's work comes through general contractors and repeat customers rather than advertising, so a homeowner usually reaches the shop by referral or through a builder. It fits a household planning a panel replacement or full service upgrade, a remodel that needs new circuits, or rewiring after property damage. Prevailing-wage public jobs suit it too. The state lists John Marko as a principal since 2014, the year the business was established. In Washington nearly all electrical work beyond swapping a fixture or device needs an electrical permit and an L&I inspection, and in the City of Spokane and Spokane Valley the same holds for service changes, new circuits, generators and remodel wiring. A new panel or service also means coordinating with the utility for disconnect and reconnect. Expect the electrical contractor to pull the permit in its own name and schedule the inspection; that record follows the house when it sells and matters to insurers after a fire or storm claim.
