AR Tile lists a wide range of materials, from standard ceramic and porcelain to granite, marble and glass, plus mosaic work that takes patience to lay well. The fit is surface work: a backsplash, a tiled shower, a stone fireplace face, or a durable floor in a shop or office. Jobs that start with framing, drywall or new plumbing and electrical rough-in belong with a general contractor or the right trade first, with tile coming in once the walls and subfloor are ready. Repair or replace is the real question with tile in an older Spokane house. A few cracked or loose tiles on a sound floor can often be pulled and reset, and tired grout can be cleaned or redone without tearing anything out. Widespread cracking, hollow-sounding tiles or a shower that's let water behind the wall point to a problem underneath, and patching the surface won't fix it.
