Artisan Granite & Tile LLC.

The state insures the business under workers'-comp classes for stone masonry, floor and counter covering installation, and stone manufacturing and polishing, which matches what it advertises: cutting and finishing slab in-house, then setting it. The company says it fabricates natural stone and porcelain, builds porcelain waterfall edges, installs shower systems and waterproofing assemblies, and puts in heated floor systems and glass and specialty tile. It uses Horus Match Software for slab layout. The crew falls in the 11-to-20 band, and the state lists Robert Smeton as a principal since 2014 and Heather Smeton since 2024. The company describes itself as family-owned. This is a finish-surface shop. It fits a kitchen remodel built around a custom stone counter, a bathroom getting full-slab shower walls, or a floor going to large-format porcelain over radiant heat. Framing, drywall, and electrical or plumbing rough-in sit outside its work mix, so on a larger remodel those trades come from someone else and the stone and tile go in once the rough work is done. Spokane's housing runs from early-1900s homes on the South Hill and in neighborhoods like Browne's Addition to newer builds in Liberty Lake and Mead, and the difference shows up under stone and tile. Older floors often have joists and subfloors that flex more than heavy slab or large-format porcelain tolerates, and walls are rarely square, which matters for mitered edges and full-slab panels. Ask whoever you hire to check the subfloor and template on site before cutting. In newer homes the framing is usually truer, but shower waterproofing is still worth asking about by name.
