Ibex Flooring LLC.

The public-works list is the clearest picture of the work. Agencies include Mead School District, Central Valley School District, Spokane School District 81, Riverside and Newport school districts, the Spokane County Health District, the cities of Spokane and Spokane Valley, and Washington State University. Ibex often bids as prime contractor and uses apprentices on that work. The state insures its crew under floor and counter covering installation, construction estimating and floor covering store classes, in the 51 to 75 worker range. The company says it dates to 2003 and describes itself as family-owned. The state lists Nathan Myers and Ashli Myers as principals since 2006. Commercial and institutional jobs make up most of what Ibex does, and a shop that size has an estimator, project managers and coordinators on staff, the company says. That suits a school, office or municipal flooring job with schedules and specifications to meet. Homeowners are served too: carpet removal and replacement, tile installation and repair, and general floor repair are all on its list. Ibex sticks to floor coverings, so framing, subfloor rebuilds tied to structural work or a full remodel belong with a general contractor. Flooring demand in Spokane bunches up in predictable ways. School districts push most of their floor replacement into summer break, which ties up commercial crews from June through August. Residential work picks up in late summer and fall as people prepare for holiday guests, then quiets in deep winter. Winter is also when acclimating hardwood and laminate indoors matters most, since forced-air heat dries homes out. For a home project, getting an estimate in spring and booking ahead of the summer rush gives the most choice on dates.
