Quality Tile Works.

Rathdrum is home base, and the work stays on the Idaho side of the line. For a homeowner in Rathdrum or the neighboring towns, that means a local flooring contractor rather than a crew driving in from across the region. Quality Tile Works has held its Idaho contractor registration since 2006, so it has been doing business here for a long stretch. Before tile work starts, settle a few things in writing. Ask what the quote covers: tearing out old flooring, hauling it away, and repairing or leveling the subfloor underneath, which is where surprises usually turn up once the old floor comes up. Ask who handles cleanup, since cutting tile and mixing thinset make dust, and how the house will be left at the end of each day. Find out how changes get priced if you switch tile partway through or the subfloor needs more work than expected, and agree that changes are written down before they're done. Finally, ask what workmanship warranty is offered on cracked tile or failed grout, and how long it runs, separate from whatever the tile maker covers.
