A-1 Rooftop Chimney Sweep Inc.

The state insures A-1 Rooftop under its residential chimney-cleaning class, which matches the work. Recent permits are mostly mechanical, the kind pulled for stove and insert installs, in Spokane Valley, Colbert, Mead, Chattaroy and Deer Park from 2024 into 2026, with one reroof permit in Spokane Valley in 2025. The company's site also lists damper replacement, rain caps, flashing, waterproofing, fireplace remodeling and dryer vent cleaning, and it advertises CSIA and HomeSaver, a stainless liner brand. The state lists Ronald Bardwell and Kathy Manon Legault as principals since 2006, and the crew runs four to six people. A-1 Rooftop fits the homeowner who wants a chimney swept and looked over before the first cold snap, or an older brick chimney with failing mortar that needs tuckpointing or a partial rebuild. Rural houses heated by wood around Loon Lake, Elk or Colville are well within the territory the company says it covers, and it advertises reaching into Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls too. Framing, new construction and anything involving electrical or plumbing belong to other trades. A sweep and inspection is a short visit and almost any certified sweep can do it. A reline, a new insert or a rebuilt crown is a different job: it usually needs a mechanical permit, involves sizing a liner to the appliance, and may turn up masonry damage from years of freeze and thaw. For the bigger work, ask what the inspection found in writing, what the permit covers, and whether the same crew does both the masonry and the install.
