The state insures Jj-Hab under two concrete risk classes, one for curb and sidewalk work on roadways and one for foundations and flatwork on wood-frame buildings. Those classes are a plain read of the jobs the crew does. A new house needing its driveway or patio poured fits the second, and a stretch of cracked sidewalk or broken curb fits the first. The state lists Drew Schaefer as a principal since 2025. Large commercial pours sit outside this work mix, which is built around houses and the street in front of them. Spokane's housing runs from early-1900s homes on the South Hill and in the older north side neighborhoods to newer subdivisions out toward Liberty Lake, Mead and Cheney, and concrete work differs between them. Older lots often have heaved sidewalks, settled steps and walks lifted by mature tree roots, so replacement usually starts with demolition and a look at what's underneath. Newer builds tend to need fresh flatwork on compacted fill, where base prep and drainage away from the foundation matter most. Freeze-thaw cycles here are hard on poorly finished or unsealed slabs, so ask any concrete contractor how they handle base, control joints, reinforcement and curing for a Spokane winter.
