Johnson Custom Iron LLC.

Johnson Custom Iron holds an Idaho contractor registration through the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing, first issued in late 2005. That makes it one of the longer-standing registrations among Rathdrum businesses. The work is based in Rathdrum, and the 25-mile reach covers Hayden, Hayden Lake, Dalton Gardens, Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene. All of that work stays on the Idaho side of the line. Kootenai County's housing mixes older homes in central Coeur d'Alene and the original parts of Post Falls and Rathdrum with newer subdivisions that have filled in around Hayden and along the prairie. For iron and metal work, that mix matters. On an older house, a new railing, gate or stair often has to tie into aged framing, concrete steps or masonry that may need repair first, so it's worth asking how the attachment points will be handled. Newer builds tend to have more predictable framing and composite decking, but HOA design rules sometimes govern fences and exterior rails. North Idaho winters bring freeze-thaw cycles and road and sidewalk salt, so ask about the finish, whether that's powder coat, galvanizing or paint, and how it holds up outdoors.
