Rathdrum is the anchor here, and the business is set up as a general contractor rather than a single-trade outfit. A general contractor is the one who runs a project from start to finish: lining up the trades, sequencing the work and carrying the job through inspections. Its Idaho registration dates to 2023, and that registration covers work on the Idaho side of the line only. Hiring a general contractor around Coeur d'Alene means dealing with two very different kinds of houses. Older homes near downtown and in the established neighborhoods often hide surprises once walls and floors open up: undersized framing, old wiring, foundations built to an earlier standard. Newer subdivisions in Rathdrum, Hayden and Post Falls tend to raise different questions, like how an addition ties into engineered trusses or how new siding matches what the builder used. Ask any contractor how they handle each. Cold winters and snow load matter for roofs, decks and exterior work, so talk through materials suited to the climate before signing.
