Summit Environmental Inc.

The business is registered in Idaho under the legal name Summit Environmental, Inc., and its work is framed here on the Idaho side of the line, in Hayden and the surrounding communities such as Hayden Lake, Dalton Gardens, Coeur d'Alene and Rathdrum. Its Idaho registration dates to 2006, which puts the business among the longer-standing registrations in the area. As a general contractor, it is the kind of firm a homeowner would talk to about a project that involves more than one trade. Repair versus replace is the question behind a lot of general contracting calls around Coeur d'Alene. Much of the housing stock here takes hard winters, snow load and spring melt, and damage often shows up as rot at windows, decks and roof edges rather than as one obvious failure. Before deciding, ask the contractor to open up the problem area and show you how far the damage runs. A soft corner of a deck or a single bad section of siding is usually a repair. When the same problem appears in several places, or the framing underneath is compromised, replacing the whole assembly tends to cost less over time than patching it season after season. Get the scope in writing either way, so you know exactly what is being fixed and what is being left alone.
