Recent permits in Spokane, Liberty Lake and Spokane Valley lean heavily toward service-side work. One job replaced a 200 amp service and a 60 amp sub-feed to a shop after both were lost in a fire. Another added a 60 amp sub-panel with two circuits, and another put in carport lights on a circuit fed from an existing building. The state insures the business under its class for wiring in buildings and floodlighting. Dominion Electric also did one public-works job for the City of Spokane in 2012 as a subcontractor. This is a good fit for an older house that needs a bigger or replacement panel, a garage or shop that needs its own service, or an outbuilding that needs lights and power. It also suits repair after a fire, where meter sockets and sub-panels have to be replaced. The business gets most of its work through referrals and repeat customers. It doesn't build large commercial projects from the ground up. In Spokane, electrical service work gets busy in spring and summer. That's when people build shops, finish garages and add outdoor lighting, and when contractors are booked further out. A panel upgrade or a new service to an outbuilding usually needs coordination with the utility for disconnect and reconnect, so it pays to call early. Late fall and winter can be easier to schedule, as long as the work isn't held up by frozen ground on a trenched service lateral. Plan a season ahead if the job goes with a summer shop build.
