Recent permits show the range of the work: monitoring modules for new sprinkler flow and tamper switches in Spokane Valley, elevator recall added to a fire alarm in a Liberty Lake tenant improvement, access control on a production door in Moses Lake, a fire alarm power supply swapped in Walla Walla, and dozens of CCTV cameras on a single Valley site. Public work runs from 2003 on, for the City of Spokane, Spokane Housing Authority, Energy Northwest, Washington State University and Western State Hospital, often as prime contractor. The company advertises NICET certification and UL-listed work, and carries a crew in the 31 to 50 range. The fit is commercial and institutional low-voltage systems: a fire alarm upgrade tied into sprinklers, access control across several doors or buildings, data cabling for an expanding office. Fire Power does take residential work, but it is a fire and security systems contractor, not the outfit for adding lighting circuits, rewiring a house or heavy power distribution. Those jobs belong with a general electrical contractor. Small and large jobs in this trade are different animals. Swapping a failed smoke detector, a keypad or one camera is a service call, and the main question is whether the contractor already knows your system's panel. A new fire alarm, a sprinkler monitoring tie-in or a tenant improvement in Spokane or Spokane Valley means design drawings, fire marshal review and an acceptance test before occupancy. For that kind of project, hire a firm that handles design, permitting and ongoing inspection under one roof, so the people who installed it are the ones who come back to test it.
