The crew runs about seven to ten people, and the founder is still involved in the business. Most work comes through agencies, general contractors and repeat customers. That makes Valence a match for a fire district replacing dispatch consoles, a city department keeping its radio fleet running, or a business with sites in Washington, Idaho and Montana that needs tower, antenna or backhaul work handled by one outfit. A homeowner after a panel upgrade or new circuits in a South Hill bungalow would be better served by a residential electrician. On communications gear, the repair-or-replace question usually comes down to support and compatibility rather than age alone. A radio or console that still works can be worth bench repair if parts are available and it talks to the rest of the system.
