The work splits two ways. On the floor side, Apex Floors handles floor covering installation. On the other, it cuts and sets countertops, which makes it a single call for a kitchen or bath where the floor and the counters are both changing. It has taken on both residential and commercial jobs, and it has been in business since 2019. The state lists Jonathan Huston as a principal since that year. Work comes in mostly through referrals and repeat customers rather than advertising. A crew this size fits a floor replacement in an existing house, a repair to a damaged section, or a remodel that needs custom counters made and fitted. Those are jobs where having the person who measured the room also lay the floor counts for a lot. A large commercial flooring package, or anything involving framing or structural work, is a different kind of job and better matched to a bigger outfit or another trade. Flooring work sorts itself by size. A quick fix, like replacing a few damaged planks or re-laying a section after a leak, mostly needs someone careful who can match what's already there. A whole-house floor or a kitchen with new counters is a different job: subfloor condition, transitions between rooms, appliance fit and the order the trades come in all start to matter. In older Spokane-area houses, ask how the installer will check the subfloor before anything goes down. For a small job, a one- to three-person shop is often the easiest to schedule. For a bigger one, ask who will be on site each day and how floors and counters will be sequenced.
