The Floor Trust, Inc.

The Floor Trust is based in Post Falls, and a 25-mile reach covers Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, Rathdrum and the towns between. It is registered in Idaho only, so its work stays on the Idaho side. Flooring is the single trade on its record, which makes it a fit for a homeowner whose project is the floor itself rather than a full remodel with framing, plumbing or electrical in the mix. Before a flooring crew starts, pin down the scope in writing. Ask who pulls up and hauls away the old carpet, tile or vinyl, and whether moving furniture and appliances is included. Ask what happens if the subfloor turns out soft or uneven once the old floor is up, and how that change gets priced and approved before work goes on. Find out how trim, transitions and baseboards are handled at doorways. Ask about cleanup and dust control, and when rooms can be used again. Finally, ask what warranty covers the installation itself, separate from the manufacturer's warranty on the material, and get both in writing.
