Gargoyle Granite and Marble Inc.

The state lists Gargoyle Granite and Marble as a general contractor, registered with Idaho's Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. It has held that registration since 2005, which puts it among the longer-standing stone businesses on the Idaho side of the line. For a homeowner in the Coeur d'Alene area weighing granite or marble for a kitchen, bath or other surface, that's a Rathdrum shop with a long run under one name. Stone work is mostly indoor work, so the Inland Northwest's winters don't stop a countertop install the way they stop a roof or a foundation. They still matter. Slabs travel on open trucks over roads that freeze and thaw through late winter, and a home under remodel in January needs heat on before adhesives and sealers go down. Any stone set outside, such as an outdoor kitchen, a hearth on a porch or exterior steps, is better planned for the dry summer months and sealed well before the first hard frost. Natural stone that takes on water and then freezes can spall and crack over a few seasons in this climate.
